CELEBRATING OUR FIRST BIRTHDAY!

Birthday cake

A First Birthday Party for Mold Plastic Reduction was held on 13th May.

Staged online owing to the COVID-19 situation, about 50 people took part.

The evening was a mixture of facts and fun: the Steering Group reported on the first year and partygoers showed cakes they’d made and toasted the day.

Environment journalist Lucy Siegle (of The Guardian and an occasional guest on The One Show) joined us, as did local Senedd Member Hannah Blythyn and County Councillor Carolyn Thomas.

Mold Plastic Reduction is connected to the international Cittaslow movement and the headquarters (in Italy) provided the best cake of the evening.

Right from the outset, when we had to get more chairs out at the first public meeting, we knew we had incredible support from the people of Mold.

Our birthday party hit the headlines, with an excellent article in The Leader revealing how the group started and highlighting its achievements in the first 12 months: Mold Plastic Reduction Group celebrate a year of achievement.
