Artificial intelligence (AI) is being used by UK start-up company Greyparrot to analyse waste processing and recycling facilities.
With its kit installed in some 50 waste and recycling sites around Europe, the company uses a combination of conveyor belt cameras and AI software to analyse waste streams.
Based on data obtained from tracking 32 billion waste items each year, Greyparrot supplies waste managers with information they can use to improve the efficiency of their operations, while also helping regulators learn more about the materials that are being handled.
