BEEB TAKES ON COKE

The BBC’s Panorama programme has taken a look at Coca-Cola’s efforts to meet its World Without Waste commitments to reduce plastic waste.

The company sells more than 100 billion throwaway plastic bottles each year and its plastic packaging is found in litter the world over more than that of any other brand.

Watching Coca-Cola’s 100 Billion Bottle Problem, one can’t help but think that Coca Cola is yet another company putting profits before the environment and, by making pledges it seems unable to keep, effectively “greenwashing” consumers.
