HAPPIER TOOTHPASTE?

Two bamboo toothbrushes in a glass jar.

With an estimated 1.5 billion toothpaste tubes going to landfill each year, the market for alternatives, such as tablets and pastes, has been steadily growing.

They’re soon to be joined by what is claimed to be the world’s first refillable toothpaste dispenser.

Developed by Happier Beauty – which also makes a recyclable toothpaste tube – the dispenser is made from aluminium and recycled plastic.

The company says it works like a traditional toothpaste pump, with refills available in the form of capsules. Likely to be priced at about £11 per tube, it’s certainly not a cheap option.
