Residents of Flintshire are being asked to help Wales become the world’s top recycling country.
Flintshire County Council has teamed up with Wales Recycles, the national recycling campaign for Wales, which aims to encourage consumers to recycle more things more often.
With 92% of people in Wales now recycling regularly, the country currently has the highest recycling rates in the UK and Wales Recycles’ Mighty Mission is to move Wales to the top of the global recycling chart.
“We can all play a part by recycling everything we possibly can at home,” explains Councillor Carolyn Thomas, Cabinet Member for Streetscene and Countryside, “whether that’s food waste such as eggshells, fruit and vegetable peelings and teabags from the kitchen, or recycling empty shampoo and shower gel bottles from the bathroom.”
