NAKED TAKEAWAY SUCCESS

An update on the Naked Takeaway project has been given to representatives of local authority Enterprise and Regeneration departments across North and Mid Wales.

Speaking at a Welsh Government Regional Town Centre Action Group event on the circular economy, Joanna Douglass, Business and Regeneration Officer at Mold Town Council, explained how the initiative is assisting the green recovery of the businesses involved.

“I was able to provide an update on the Naked Takeaway project which was funded through the Welsh Government Circular Economy grant,” Jo said. “The audience was very interested to learn of the positive feedback from the businesses already and the commitment to continue with the reusable takeaway containers after the pilot has ended.”

Businesses’ decision to continue with the scheme is a response to feedback from customers that the tins create less waste and keep food hotter for longer. For the businesses involved, this opens up the prospect of attracting new takeaway customers, including those living further afield.
