PLASTIC-FREE CRAFTING

Lots of ideas for plastic-free craft activities were on display on Mold Plastic Reductionโ€™s stall at the Outside Lives event on Saturday 3 August in Moldโ€™s Daniel Owen Centre.

The theme of the event was ‘A family day out doesnโ€™t have to cost the earth’.

We showed visitors, mainly children, how to make pirate hats (one modelled by our volunteer, Sam Hubbard) and how to make beautiful decorations utilising paper plates (Anne Maund pictured in the top photo, helping two boys).

Both activities avoided using plastic – apart from a little Sellotape – and reminded us that we are moving toward elimination of plastic but, in the meantime, are in the reduction phase.

In the spirit of ideas for family days, we also ran a video about the Geocache scheme and promoted the Bailey Hill / Bryn Y Beili treasure hunt (@brynbeili on Facebook).

As with all the events we attend, Mold Plastic Reduction also collected expressions of interest in our work, building our database of supporters alongside out 1800 followers on Facebook.
