The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has upheld complaints of greenwashing against adverts claiming that artificial grass made by Evergreens UK Ltd is eco-friendly.
Given that the product is made of plastic, the ASA said that claims of it being eco-friendly were “unsubstantiated and misleading”.
Over its whole lifecycle, the artificial turf “had a negative impact on the environment” said the ASA.
