RECYCLING SOFT PLASTIC

Crisp packets on supermarket shelf

Crisp packets, bread bags, confectionery wrappers and other soft plastics can now be recycled at some 1,500 Co-op stores across the UK.

With plans to extend the recycling units to a further 800 stores by the end of this year, it’s a welcome initiative, but marred – for those of us in the Mold area – by the absence of a local Co-op store.

Stores in North Wales that are accepting soft plastics for recycling include Denbigh, Ewloe, Llangollen, Queensferry, Ruthin and Wrexham.

You can find out more about the scheme, and identify participating stores, on the Co-op website.
