In the context of Plastic Free July, a blog post from Senedd Research (part of Senedd Cymru / Welsh Parliament) looks at what is being done to curb plastic pollution in Wales and at the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on efforts to reduce plastic pollution in the country.

It notes that Keep Wales Tidy has reported an increase in the littering of PPE, including face masks and disposable gloves, and warns that, because PPE often contains plastic, it is both an environmental hazard and a potential contamination risk.
