Where does your recycling go after it’s collected?

If you live in Flintshire, your glass waste is likely to end up in Doncaster or Barnsley, plastic in Selby or Corby, metals in Spain or Southport, and paper in Indonesia or Shotton.

How do you know? Because the new My Recycling Wales website lets you check each Welsh local authority to see what happens to the waste it collects.

Flintshire has a recycling rate of 66%, with each resident of the county generating an average of 503 kg of waste per year.
