A Library of Things lets people borrow rarely-used items, such as carpet cleaning machines, hedge trimmers, suitcases and tents.
The idea aims to help cut expenditure on things that are not often used and to reduce the amount of new products being bought.
Mold, Llangollen and Ruthin town councils are exploring the idea of funding a mobile Library of Things and want to know what local people would like to borrow from it.
Opinions are also sought on other initiatives: repair cafes, community recycling, clothes swaps and refill schemes.
